Selecting a Time Range in the “Data Mining” Tool

by Phil A.

Through its “Trended”, “Ranked” and “Priorities” tabs, the “Data Mining” tool provides multiple ways for you to analyze your close-ended data in both trended and aggregate format.

By default, the Data Mining tool will show your data for the last month, though you are able to modify the time range that you are analyzing by using the options provided at the top of the tool:

Using this menu, you can change the time range for the data being displayed.  While your data will be shown as an aggregate within the “Ranked” and “Priorities” tabs, selecting any of the following options will show your data in trended format when using the “Trended” tab:

  • Last 1 month (default) --> Trended weekly
  • Last 3 months
  • Last 6 months
  • Last 1 year

Other options available within this menu include:

  • Month To Date: View your data starting from the 1st day of the current month up to today
  • Year To Date: View your data starting from January 1st of the current year up to today
  • Max Range: View all of the data collected for this survey since its inception

To select a specific time range that you would like to analyze, you can do so using the “Custom Date” option.  To use this feature, select your desired range within the “From” and “To” calendar features provided:

After you have made any of your selections using the Time Range feature, click the “Update” button provided, and your changes will be applied to the data provided:
