Selecting Between Short-Term and Long-Term Alerts on the “Monitoring” Tool

by Phil A.

UPDATE: August 4 2015

Please note that the “Monitoring” reporting tool is no longer available in the iPerceptions Active Research platform following its beta release.  Please check out this section of our support forum for information on the reporting tools available in the Active Research Platform

______________

Available starting at the iPerceptions Premium plan, the “Monitoring” tool allows you to identify statistically significant changes in your close-ended data from one period to the next.

Once you have chosen on which time period to focus your analysis, you must then determine whether you would like to focus on short-term statistically significant alerts, or long-term ones.  By default, short-term alerts will be shown, but you can choose to instead focus on long-term ones using the buttons provided:

Short-Term alerts will provide statistically significant findings in your close-ended data by comparing your selected time period to the one immediately before it.

Long-Term alerts will instead provide statistically significant findings in your close-ended data by comparing your selected time period to the previous 12 weeks / months before it, depending on the selection you had made.

The number provided to the right of both of these options signifies their respective total number of statistically significant findings (at a 60% level).
