Analyzing the Alerts Table on the “Monitoring” Tool

by Phil A.

UPDATE: August 4 2015

Please note that the “Monitoring” reporting tool is no longer available in the iPerceptions Active Research platform following its beta release.  Please check out this section of our support forum for information on the reporting tools available in the Active Research Platform

______________

Available starting at the iPerceptions Premium plan, the “Monitoring” tool allows you to identify statistically significant changes in your close-ended data from one period to the next.

Based on the time periods and filters that you have set, all statistically significant changes in your close-ended data will be provided within the Alerts table:

The 1st column in this table represents the dimensions and metrics for which statistically significant changes were found, listed by Dimension or Metric (depending on your selection).

The 2nd column (“Result”) shows the rating for the specific metric and dimension shown, based on the time period that you had selected for your analysis.  In the example above, the Task Completion rate for those coming to “Check Prices” was 53%, while their Overall Experience rating (on a scale from 0 to 10) was 6.92.

The 3rd column (“Change”) shows the percentage amount of change (as a proportion) that was seen for this specific metric and dimension short-term or long-term (depending on your selection).  In the example above, the Task Completion rate for those coming to “Check Prices” decreased from 71% to 53% during this period, meaning that a -25% change was seen for this particular metric: [(71% - 53%) / 71%] = -25%

The 4th column (“Significance”) shows the significance level of this particular change.  In the example above, the -25% change in the Task Completion rate for those coming to “Check Prices” was considered statistically significant at an 85% level.
