Setting Your Level of Statistical Significance on the “Monitoring” Tool

by Phil A.

UPDATE: August 4 2015

Please note that the “Monitoring” reporting tool is no longer available in the iPerceptions Active Research platform following its beta release.  Please check out this section of our support forum for information on the reporting tools available in the Active Research Platform

______________

Available starting at the iPerceptions Premium plan, the “Monitoring” tool allows you to identify statistically significant changes in your close-ended data from one period to the next.

By default, all findings that are statistically significant at a 60% level will be provided based on your time period and filter selections.  However, you can change this level of significance by using the slider provided, which will dynamically update the table of findings based on your selection:

While the default is set to 60%, a statistical significance level of 90% or greater is more commonly used for this type of research.

The numbers provided above each item in the slider represents the total number of short-term or long-term statistically significance changes that were seen at this level.
