Viewing a Metric Trended Over Time for a Dimension on the “Monitoring” Tool

by Phil A.

UPDATE: August 4 2015

Please note that the “Monitoring” reporting tool is no longer available in the iPerceptions Active Research platform following its beta release.  Please check out this section of our support forum for information on the reporting tools available in the Active Research Platform

______________

Available starting at the iPerceptions Premium plan, the “Monitoring” tool allows you to identify statistically significant changes in your close-ended data from one period to the next.

The Alerts table lists statistically significant changes for the time period that you had selected, based on whether you are placing focus on short-term or long-term comparisons.  However, you can also see how this metric has performed over time for a specific group of respondents by selecting your desired metric and dimension on the Alerts table.  Doing so will reload the page to show a chart at the top of the “Monitoring” tool which provides this trended look.

Here is a quick look at the type of chart you can see when doing so, depending on whether you had decided to look at short-term or long-term changes in your close-ended data:

Short-Term

The time periods on which the short-term comparison is being made are shown in grey, while a historical look at this metric (Task Completion) for this dimension (those coming to “Check Prices”) is shown in orange.

Long-Term

The time period on which the long-term comparison is based is represented by a grey dot on the chart, while a historical look at this metric (Task Completion) for this dimension (those coming for “Other” Purposes of Visit) is shown in orange.

A grey line is shown across each time period to represent the combined rating received for this metric over the previous 12 time periods.  In the example above, the Task Completion rate for this group of respondents was 63% for the previous 12 months.
